FAQ
1. Why do you require a permit fee?
The Town of Georgetown requires that all garage/yard sales have a permit, as they have some conditions that each homeowner will need to follow. When you send your $10 registration fee to the coordinator, she will use $3 of that to pay for your permit. Make sure you return the registration form and permit application with your payment.
2. I own a business downtown, do I need to have a permit?
Yes, if you are using the sidewalk to share your items, the town will need you to complete a permit.
3. Our neighborhood would like to have a neighborhood yard sale during this event. What do we need to do?
If each home is hosting its own yard sale, then each home will need to be registered. If one home in the neighborhood is willing to be the host location for a multi-family yard sale, where all the homeowners in the neighborhood bring their yard sale items to the one house in the neighborhood, then we would only need one permit for that one house.
